Progress during break


During my break, I have worked on some small things on Utmost Cleaning. These are small features, but I think they are still worth mentioning.

1. Scrubbing - This is a gameplay mechanic that was already "coded" in the game that I never really added. This was due to a bug in the script which the Y rotation of the placeholder sponge model would not rotate to move against the wall. This bug had been fixed and now the player will need to clean surfaces in levels instead of just picking up trash

2. Interactive Object cleaning - For certain objects, I want the player to be thrown into a mini-game where the player needs to move the sponge on the dirt layers to clean them. I have already coded a bare bones version of this feature of how I want it to look like.





3. Items - The player would need to use certain objects to do certain tasks by selecting the objection from the inventory via the number keys on the keyboard. To mop puddles, the player needs to have the mop equipped. For dusting, the player needs to have the feather duster equipped, and so on. I have already coded this feature in.





4. Better NPC dialogue data - NPCs are currently hard coded. They lines, their mugshot, their sprites, and so on. This takes a bit of time to create them. So, I have created an early system of creating NPC game objects with their data. I will expand on this feature when I have finally returned.




Despite me taking a long break from the game, I have still made some progress with it. Though, it was only coding in bare bone versions of features, but they will be finished. When I return to continue dev, I will flesh these features out and make sure everything is ready for the next build. These aren't the only features I have created/planned for the next update, but the next update will be released in a very long time.
